Bringing Debate to Schools: Our Partnership with IFTE

Debattierklub Wien, in partnership with IFTE’s Misch dich ein initiative, is dedicated to promoting debate in schools throughout Austria. Our collaboration focuses on empowering students through engaging workshops, debate courses, and events designed to cultivate critical thinking, effective communication, and active citizenship. By integrating debate into the educational experience, we aim to inspire young minds to confidently express their ideas and engage in meaningful discussions on pressing social and political issues.

Our offer to schools and teachers:

We bring debate to schools through the Misch dich ein program for free:

Workshops: Interactive course delivered on-site or online, introducing students to debate formats and techniques.
Debate Club Support: For schools looking to introduce debating or establish a club, the program provides on-site teacher training (SCHILF) in collaboration with the eesi-Impulszentrum, covering debate rules, argumentation techniques, and judging.
Events and teacher training: Includes the Austrian Schools Debating Championships, Special Debate Days focusing on topical issues, and Youth Debates with Politicians. Additionally, we offer professional development for teachers, providing the tools and techniques needed to incorporate debating into their classrooms.

If your school or organization isn’t covered by the Misch dich ein program, we still have options for you. We regularly collaborate with a range of educational institutions and private companies, offering tailored debate workshops and training programs to suit different needs.
